APFTL & MJDAK Officially Launch PFN Selection and Election to the Public

Dili, 13/10/2023- Alumni Youth Parliament of Timor-Leste (APFTL) and Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MJDAK) have officially launched to the public related to the selection and election of the Youth Parliament for period-V 2024- 2026, in the hall of the Catholic University of Timor-Leste (UCT) Dili.

On this occasion, Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture (MJDAK) Nélyo Isaac Sarmento said, “Learning in the Youth Parliament is a preparation to strengthen young people's knowledge and skills to become critical youth and responsibility."

In the same place, APFTL President Zaulino Gomes da Silva said, Alumni Youth Parliament of Timor-Leste (APFTL) as beneficiaries of the Youth Parliament, ready to take responsibility and give continuity to the PFN program forward, on the other hand asked the government to invest in youth to prepare themselves, so as to ensure good youth leaders and quality to serve the people and the nation for the future.

The launch of the National Workshop for the Selection and Election of Youth Parliament members for the period 2024-2026 was attended by: MJDAK, CNJTL, MJDAK Employees, INDICCA President, Municipal Youth Centers, MJDK Focal Point, and APFNTL Members.

According to the schedule, the selection team highlighted in each Administrative Post in the national territory will begin registration on October 23, Selection and election will be held on November 15 and the inauguration of the elected Youth Member of Parliament will held on December 12th.
