PFN Schedules Audience with President of the Republic

Dili, 21 March 2023, Members of the Youth Parliament (PFN) scheduled an audience with the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (RDTL) at his office in Aitarak Laran, Dili. The objective of this audience was to deliver the results of the PFN Plenary, 2022 to His Excellency the President of the Republic.

The results come from the data that PFN members identified and collected at the grassroots level, then discussed to group each theme and elaborated at the committee meeting. These data are then presented to the Plenary for debate and approval. The approved data are considered important and relevant, so the PFN took the initiative to present these results to the Head of State, including the competent and relevant institutions to make decisions based on these studies.

During the audience, His Excellency the President of the Republic Dr. José Ramos-Horta said, “I am very grateful and proud of the recommendations that the members of the Youth Parliament produced because the recommendation is relevant to the real situation that is happening in Timor and I myself observed directly and the recommendation these I will submit to the ministerial lines, so they can put in their policy”.

On the other hand, PFN member representative Celina Franklin, proud to be able to meet directly with the Head of State and deliver the results of the Plenary.

This result was approved at the Plenary of the PFN, which was held in December 2022 in Baucau Municipality.
