PFN Members Organize Municipal Discussion Forum

Member of the Youth Parliament (M-PFN) Period 2019-2022 from Baucau Municipality Organized “Municipal Youth Parliament Forum”. In this activity, PFN together with Youth held an interactive discussion on the Five Themes contemplated in the National Youth Policy, these themes are: Youth and Education, Youth Living Healthy, Youth with Employment and Employability, Youth Civic Participation and Youth Violence and Crime. This activity was held for three days, from 06 to 08 July 2022 at Venilale Administration Hall, Baucau Municipality.

The objective of the Forum is to identify the opportunities and challenges that young people face in Venilale based on the reality. On the other hand, it also creates space for young people to participate in productive exhibition activities and friendly games.

In the opening, Mr. Administrator of Venilale Administrative Post Mingel Mendes Manso Guterres said, “I hope through this discussion, Venilale people take advantage to talk about the problems that exist in the village, post and municipality. You young people are the new generation and the hope of this country”.

In the same place, SEJD Officer Baucau Municipality Gabriel da Piedade Fraga added, “SEJD created Youth Parliament as a space for youth to learn and form a good leadership to contribute to this country. As the motto of SEJD is “Tane Foinsa’e Fini Ukun Nain”, through this activity, test PFNs’ responsibility and leadership mentality. I praise the brothers, because they learn and can practice, this is a positive part of PFN”.

APFTL representative Benvinda Gusmão Alves, also expressed that; This activity is an initiative support for PFNs to practice what they learn during their mandate as PFNs. And this activity is supported by SEJD through APFTL and implemented by PFN.

The activity of the Municipal Youth Parliament Forum was attended by the Venilale Post Administrator, Venilale Squad Commander, Teachers and Students from ETV Venilale School, ESGV Venilale, ESSJB Venilale, APFTL and M-PFN.
